1. Information we collect

This calculator requires no account and collects no personal information. The dates and labels you enter are processed entirely inside your own browser. They are not transmitted to us, not stored on any server, and never received by us in any form. There is no backend: the site is a set of static files plus JavaScript that runs on your device.

2. Shareable countdown links

When you copy a countdown link, the date and any label you typed are written into the URL itself (for example ?date=2026-12-25&label=Christmas). That link is reconstructed entirely in the browser of whoever opens it — no countdown is saved on a server, and we cannot see the links you create or who you send them to. Bear in mind the ordinary consequence of putting information in a URL: anywhere you paste that link, the date and label are visible in it, so avoid labels containing anything you would not want shared.

3. Cookies and third-party advertising

This site may display third-party advertising, including Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Users in the EEA and UK may also be shown a consent prompt where required by law. Advertising is served independently of anything you enter into the calculator — the dates and labels you type are never passed to any advertising system.

4. Analytics

We may use privacy-friendly, cookie-free aggregate analytics (for example Cloudflare Web Analytics) to count page views and understand which pages are useful. No personally identifying information is collected, and the dates or labels you enter into the calculator are never included in analytics data.

5. Local storage and cookies we set

The calculator sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing in your browser between visits. It reads preset values from the page URL when you follow a shared link or arrive from one of our event pages, and that is the only state it uses.

6. Time zones

Countdowns are computed against your device's local calendar date and time zone, which your browser provides to the page. This happens locally in JavaScript: your time zone is used to produce the number you see and is not transmitted to us or recorded anywhere.

7. Affiliate disclosure

Some links on this site may be affiliate links, meaning we could earn a commission if you sign up for or purchase a product through them. This never changes the price you pay, and it does not influence the arithmetic, dates or explanations on this site. Where a page contains affiliate links we aim to make that clear on the page itself.

8. Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and the calculator will continue to work normally, since it does not depend on them. You can also use the site with an ad blocker. This service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

9. Accuracy disclaimer

Results are calendar arithmetic, described in full on the about page. Where a date is inherently approximate — the June solstice, for instance — the relevant page says so. Please do not rely on this site as the sole source for a legally or financially significant deadline; confirm important dates against the authority that set them.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change with it. Material changes will be reflected on this page rather than announced separately.
