What to expect

The site is maintained by one person alongside other work, so replies usually take a few business days and sometimes longer. Reports of a wrong count get answered first, because a date calculator that is off by one is worth fixing immediately.

Reporting a wrong count

Day counts are the kind of thing that can look wrong and be right, or look right and be wrong, so please include:

• The page you were on, and the target date you entered or the preset you used.
• Your device's date and time zone when you saw it — countdowns are computed locally, so a result near midnight legitimately differs between time zones.
• Which number looked wrong: the large calendar-day count, the ticking timer, or one of the weeks/months breakdowns. They measure different things on purpose.
• The full URL if you were using a shared countdown link, since the date travels inside it.

Suggesting a countdown page

Requests for new event pages are welcome. The ones that work best are events with a rule rather than a one-off date — anything computable, like "the second Monday of October" or a fixed annual date, can be built so it never needs updating. If you send a suggestion, include the rule that defines the date, not just this year's date.

Factual corrections

Several pages carry historical or astronomical context alongside the arithmetic. If something there is wrong or overstated, a source alongside the correction makes it much faster to verify and fix. The about page lists the accuracy rules the site is written against.

What we cannot help with

We cannot recover a countdown you made earlier — nothing is stored, so there is nothing to retrieve. We also cannot send reminders, notifications or emails when a countdown reaches zero; the site has no way to contact you and no record that your countdown ever existed. If you need reminders, copy the date into a calendar app.
